The Logos Studies Centre, the voluntary association without profit’s aim “O.N.L.U.S.”, is born in the Eighty years by the cultural, human and social engagement of a researchers’ group about medical, psychological and pedagogical subjects with the intent to meet the enormous difficulties half-way that  parents and teachers met in the daily management of the multiform reality of the child with handicap.

 

L.S.C. takes post, since its birth, as incentive to the search, study and diffusion of the themes regarding the  psychological and affective trouble, the intellectual and cognitive delay, the integration’s difficulties in the scholastic, family and social content.

This sector intends, with the collaboration of experts in several fields of the psycho-pedagogical sciences, the methods’ study and search, techniques and instruments that are not only effective, but that are also  pleasant and easily usable in educational and rehabilitative content for both normal and with handicap children.

Observation           

The child, controlling  in part the hand’s movements, can draw with the pencil or with the paint-brush scribbles and dots, in organized way, on a drawing’s , but he can’t  yet write the alphabetical letters.

Valuation        

If he can make  the scribbles without often  leave  from the sheet and if the scribbles are in any way organized, he is ready to work with the pre- writing’s cards that they are in commerce.

These cards have the purpose of making understand to the children that the signs on the sheet have a meaning, that is they represent something. Besides they allow him to acquire necessary motor abilities and eye-hand coordination to direct the pencil to trace the wants graphic sign.

Finally they help to acquire the awareness of the principal geometrical forms and the spatial reports.

It is advisable to use the cards in progressive way as indicated by the authors, delivering them to the child one card at a time, taking cue from the drawings to widen the speech about all that he sees, draws, completes.

Therefore will be well to read carefully the instructions that they are in beginning of any album or behind any card. As marking from the examples, the pre-writing cards have any essential common characteristics  that give them particularly accepted by the children.

1.   the graphic signs that are requested, are not never end in themselves and don’t make part of a vowel or consonant that to the eyes and to the mind of the child it appears without sense, but they are essential parts of a drawing and of images  near to his world. That permits him to utilize most other information presented in his memory, further to give funny that he makes.

2.   for many exercises it is asked for any vast and simple signs .

3.    there is a progression that accompanies him, sweetly and without difficult demands , from the signs that spontaneously he did on the sheet  scribbling, to more difficult and complex signs.

4.    the sequence that accompanies him to the free drawing is preceded from pressing down’s exercises , execution with  track, executions with points that give the margins or the initial execution of the same drawing.

If we will comprise “the secret” of these cards, with our fantasy and with few artistic capacities , we could invent another themselves or propose them coping numerous other subsidies : colours, paint-brush, blackboards, etc.
