Questo è il terzo libro che il neuropsichiatra e psicologo Emidio Tribulato dedica all’autismo, dopo “Autismo e gioco libero autogestito” e “Bambini da liberare – Una sfida all’autismo”.

La prevenzione della chiusura autistica, nella nostra attuale società occidentale, è certamente difficile. Tuttavia, è notevolmente importante, anzi indispensabile attivarla giorno per giorno, se vogliamo evitare a migliaia di bambini, ai loro genitori e familiari un’intensa e prolungata sofferenza e alla società un impegno educativo e riabilitativo molto gravoso e costoso.

Per fortuna la prevenzione è anche possibile, poiché, conosciamo molto bene tutte le situazioni e gli eventi che possono creare nella mente dei bambini piccoli sofferenza, stress, sfiducia e rabbia, così da indurli a chiudersi in sé stessi, così come sono ben noti tutti gli ambienti e i comportamenti degli adulti che riescono ad apportare loro serenità, gioia, fiducia e, di conseguenza, apertura agli altri e al mondo fuori di loro.

MEN AND WOMEN AT THE CROSSROADS What roads love?

The paths of amorous feelings in which men and women seek each other and travel together, in the hope of finding common goals that are as gratifying and satisfying as possible, if not perfect, are many and different. They are paths as old as the world. Despite this, even today and especially today, we are unable to understand the best way to choose them and live them well. Even today, and especially today, we have not learned to distinguish the paths that unite from those that divide; the paths that lead to understanding from those that lead to conflict. The paths that build civilizations and those that prepare barbarism. The paths that help human societies in their growth and those that lead to degeneration and conflict. Even today we are unable to find the best ways to travel them together, men and women, hand in hand, with mutual respect and availability, with mutual understanding and tenderness, without useless infatuations but also with a lot of care and attention towards the other. Without illusions, of course, but also with the right trust and hope. The author, while not wanting to give “recipes” on the best way to experience feelings and emotions of love, intends to clarify some fundamental questions: what is love and when does it arise? What is it for? Why do we fall in love? Who do we fall in love with? Why do we choose and live a certain type of love rather than another? Why do so many loves endà And finally, what are the behaviors and personal, couple, family and social contributions that facilitate understanding and what are the attitudes that lead to conflict and clash.

Emidio Tribulato, doctor, neuropsychiatrist and psychologist, currently directs the Logos Study Center in Messina and is a consultant for the U.C.I.P.E.M. Family Counseling Center in the same city. He has been involved in the prevention and treatment of situations of distress that affect minors, couples and families for over twenty years. Among his publications we remember: “Voglia di crescere”, “L’educazione negata”, “Mondo affettivo e mondo economico”.

Conflicts and violence between the sexes are one of the worst evils of our time, because they upset the lives of millions of people, who instead would like and dream of seeking each other, finding each other and loving each other.
Who are the contendersé Where does the bitterness that sets them against each other come from, rather than next to each other, in each other’s armsé How does the violence that humiliates, hurts and kills arise and develop? How can we prevent these conflicts and aggressions that also seriously damage the serenity and life of minorsé
This essay tries to answer these and other questions that plague individuals, the mass media and society as a whole.

Emidio Tribulato, doctor, adult and child neuropsychiatrist, is a consultant for the UCIPEM Consultancy in Messina and currently directs the Logos ODV Study Center in Messina. The author has been involved for several years in prevention and treatment services for situations of distress that affect minors, couples and families.

At the same time, however, he is forced to face and solve the mystery that surrounds one of his strange and inscrutable patients: who has a name different from his real one; who is hospitalized for a non-existent disease; who does not want to be discharged but who is also involved in defamatory accusations. A human and social story where the author’s autobiographical elements blend with the mystery, cruelty, suffering, friendship, love and redemption of his numerous and unforgettable characters.

Few things, like children’s stories, can amaze us, for the depth of their feelings, for their ability to understand in a profound and intimate way the reality that surrounds them.
Few tools, like children’s stories, allow us to enter, as if on tiptoe, into their inner world, to discover and understand how the child lives his living environment: family, school, friends. Few tools, like children’s stories, allow us to understand in an immediate and direct way what fears and anxieties agitate their minds, what desires and hopes dwell in their hearts.
Few tools, moreover, have the possibility of offering that precious therapeutic contribution that is able to improve the psychological condition of a child, when he has the opportunity to open his heart to an adult who knows how to listen to him and understand him.

La bolla dell’autismo

A parte la pandemia del coronavirus Covid-19, oggi l’autismo è forse la preoccupazione più diffusa e crescente di genitori, educatori, insegnanti e di chiunque sia a contatto con bambini piccoli. E’ una vera e propria psicosi che rischia di travolgere quel che resta dell’organizzazione sanitaria nel campo dell’assistenza ai bambini piccoli, che negli anni ’80 e ’90 del secolo scorso aveva visto il nostro paese all’avanguardia. E’ diventato anche un enorme business su cui convergono potenti interessi. Molti pensano che si tratti in realtà di un colossale errore storico che ha portato al fallimento della ricerca e dell’assistenza nel settore.

All’estero sono in corso importanti discussioni e vengono proposte importanti modifiche di tutta l’impostazione della ricerca e della clinica, mentre in Italia non si muove foglia. Questo libro cerca di rompere la cappa di disinformazione propagandistica esistente rivolgendosi a tutte le persone interessate alla salute dei bambini e alla loro crescita. E’ necessario riconoscere e rompere le bolle autistiche’, quegli invisibili involucri psico-relazionali in cui molti bambini piccoli rischiano di venire sequestrati. Bisogna liberare i bambini da queste bolle e per fare questo la prima cosa da fare è liberarsi dalle falsità e degli errori che dominano il campo.

Affective world and economic world – Conflict or collaboration

The “Affective-relational world” and the “Economic and service world” are two worlds in which men and women are totally immersed. These two human realities both require special attention and care for their development and growth.
In these two worlds the use of time and space is different; the values ??and gratifications are different; but above all what these realities produce in favor of individuals, families and societies is different.
In this essay, easy and pleasant to read, the author helps us discover all the characteristics that these two worlds have in common or make different, both indispensable for personal and social well-being, so neither of them should be neglected, neither of them should prevail over the other.
But if this does not happen, if the economic and service world prevails and crushes the affective-relational one, what are and will be the dramatic consequences that individuals and societies will have to face?

Amin: lo straniero (romanzo)

Questo romanzo. in parte autobiografico, ambientato in un ospedale psichiatrico della Sicilia degli anni ’70, nel periodo della contestatissima legge Basaglia sugli ammalati mentali e sull’apertura degli ospedali psichiatrici verso il mondo esterno, ha due protagonisti principali: il primo, che entra subito in scena, è un giovane medico neuropsichiatra, Andrea, che cerca in tutti i modi di modificare in meglio la terribile sorte dei pazienti ospiti nel peggiore reparto dell’ospedale nel quale lavora come assistente. Reparto chiamato appunto, senza tema di smentite, ‘reparto sudici’.

Quasi subito dopo però emerge la figura estremamente problematica dell’altro protagonista: uno straniero, circondato da un alone di mistero, svelato solo nelle ultime pagine.

Quest’uomo, dagli occhi e capelli neri come il carbone, porta un nome diverso da quello reale, è stato ricoverato anni prima per una malattia inesistente, è coinvolto in accuse infamanti e, infine, nonostante sia stato ritenuto sano di mente, non vuole assolutamente essere dimesso.

Accanto a queste due figure principali, ruotano tanti altri personaggi che rendono questo coinvolgente, commovente romanzo, ricco di sofferenza ma anche di amore; ricco di crudeltà ma anche di grande amicizia, speranza e intensa umanità.
